Who are you guys and what is skylark & king?
skylark & king was founded by two brothers, Nick Zagar and Michael Freedman, with the hopes of making the world a better, cooler, and comfier place. We're a clothing company; we produce unique yet comfortable active and leisure wear in sustainable and compassionate manner. We're about style, culture, and adventure, but also about making the world a better place. Every time you purchase any of our products, you directly contribute toward providing clean and sustainable drinking water to people in developing countries. What’s with the name? What does “skylark & king” mean?
Skylark, v.i. to play
about boisterously; to frolic
King, n. something supreme in its class
These two words form the basis of our attitude. skylark & king is the simultaneous juxtaposition of the elegant with the adventurous, of the luxurious with the free spirited. We also just thought it sounded cool. Doesn't it?
That’s not a Skylark in your logo. Why the red-winged black bird?
At skylark & king water is important to us. The red-winged blackbird is a wetlands bird native to parts of North and Central America. Though the red-winged blackbird resides over a range of habitats, it is considered by many to be a good indicator of healthy wetland environment.
Why focus on clean drinking water?
Two reasons: It’s a huge problem, and it has an attainable solution. Nearly 1 billion people don’t have access to clean drinking water. Another 2.6 billion people lack adequate sanitation. Because water is the basis of economic development, this not only leads to needless illness and death, but also a continuation of the cycle of poverty. How does my purchase help to solve the water crisis?
For every purchase you make from skylark & king at least 10% goes directly towards funding clean water and sanitation solutions in the developing world through the work of the outstanding non-profit Water For People.

What are LARKS?
LARKS are inspired by the Thai fisherman pants worn both by East Asians and the travelling backpackers who pass through their villages. LARKS are lightweight, hip, and most of all comfortable. Wear them wherever you see fit, but they're especially great for a day at the beach, your daily yoga routine, and even Tai Chi. They are perfect for strolling the streets of Brooklyn on a balmy summer day or curling up with someone special to watch HBO on Sunday night. Nothing helps shed the weight of a long day at the office like slipping on a pair while sipping on a glass of Malbec. How do I put on a pair of LARKS?
1 leg at a time. No, but seriously, we get that it can be a little confusing at first. We promise you’ll get the hang of it really quickly. Take a look at our guide on how to tie Thai fisherman pants.
How do I wash and dry my skylark & king clothing?
The instructions are on the inside label, but check out the garment care page if you're still confused.
How do I know which size is right for me?
Check out our sizing chart. If that doesn't help, shoot us an email. And remember, if you buy the wrong size you can always exchange it.
What are your manufacturing practices? Are they sustainable?
We take great effort and pride in producing our products in an ethical and sustainable manner. For example, our LARKS and several of our T-shirts are manufactured locally in the United States. We take great care in using top quality and sustainable materials. We use linen for our LARKS not only because it makes the most comfortable and breathable pants possible, but also because the production of flax fibers creates less of a footprint than fabrics like cotton or synthetics. Our t-shirts are printed using environmentally friendly water based inks, that don’t contain the harmful polyvinyl chlorides present in the typical plastisol based inks.
Although we have taken great effort to insure our production is ethical, we are constantly striving to improve. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about our production process do not hesitate to email us directly at nick@skylarkandking.com or michael@skylarkandking.com.

Will you put a picture of me in my LARKS on the website?
Send us an email at blackbirds@skylarkandking.com with a picture of you in any of our products, your first name, your location, and anything else you want to tell us. We’ll try to get it on the blog or website!
What's your shipping policy?
Our Shipping Policy is straightforward and easy. All orders over $100, get free shipping! For all other orders of apparel a $6 shipping fee will be added. Stickers ship for free. All orders are shipped via USPS within the United States. Your order will be processed and shiped within 3 business days of when you place it.
At this point we aren’t shipping outside the United States. If you live in another country and are dying to get some Larks, send us an email at blackbirds@skylarkandking.com and we will try our best to work something out with you.
We understand that it can be tough picking out the right size of LARKS—or of any product for that matter. We want you to be as happy as possible with you’re choice. So, we give you 30 days (from the day you receive your order) to return or exchange any of our products in any condition.
We think this is fair, and we hope you do too. Before making any returns or exchanges, we ask that you shoot us a quick email at Blackbirds@skylarkandking.com and let us know what’s up. This should allow us to process your request as quickly as possible.
Exchanges and returns should take about a week to process. If you haven’t heard from us within 1 week, something is wrong. Email or call us again and we will make it right.
